Lesson 3 – The Types of Tasks in Part I (Academic)
- To explore the different types of visual information presented in Part I (Academic), and to practice reporting this information in written English
- Vocabulary describing change is introduced
Lesson 4 – The Main Features in Part I (Academic)
- To introduce the concept of main features in the context of IELTS Part I (Academic), and to gain practice in identifying these and describing them in written English
Lesson 5 – Maps Processes and Two Chart Comparisons in Part I (Academic)
- To practice writing descriptions of maps and processes, and making comparisons between two graphics
Lesson 6 – Completing Part I (Academic)
- To understand the overall structure of IELTS Writing Part I (Academic), and to apply the skills and knowledge from previous lessons so that the student can complete the entire task and achieve the required word count
Lesson 7 – Part I General Training
- To understand the format of Part I of the IELTS Writing (General Training) exam, and to get practice in doing this task
- Students will learn about greetings and complimentary closings, and the differences between informal, semi-formal and formal letters
Lesson 8 – Introduction to IELTS Writing Part II
- To understand the format of IELTS Writing Part II, to become familiar with opinion tasks, to learn about the four-paragraph structure of the essay, and to practice writing an opinion essay
Lesson 9 – Writing Opinion Essays
- To provide practice in writing IELTS Writing Part II opinion essays, and to focus on idioms relating to expressing an opinion
Lesson 10 – Further Practice of Opinion Essays
- To provide practice in writing IELTS Writing Part II opinion essays, and to focus on vocabulary and idioms which create a sequence of ideas
Lesson 11 – Problem and Solution Questions in Part II
- To introduce the problem and solution type of question in the IELTS Writing Part II exam, and to practice answering this question type
Lesson 12 – Practicing a Problem and Solution Question
- To practice answering a problem and solution type of question in the IELTS Writing Part II exam, and to introduce the “reasons for a problem” question type
Lesson 13 – Advantages and Disadvantages Questions in Part II
- To introduce the advantages and disadvantages type of question in IELTS Writing Part II, and to practice answering it.
- Vocabulary and idioms which are useful for this type of question will also be introduced.
Lesson 14 – Getting the Best Result in IELTS Writing
- To review the key points in IELTS Writing, such as the marking criteria, and to assist the candidate in identifying strengths and weaknesses and formulating a study plan and strategy for the exam
IELTS Speaking – 13 Lessons
Lesson 1 – Introduction
- To introduce students to the format and structure of the speaking portion of the IELTS examination
Lesson 2 – Fluency and Coherence
- To introduce students to the concept of fluency and coherence (i.e. speaking naturally without hesitation) for the speaking portion of the IELTS examination
Lesson 3 – Lexical Resource
- To introduce students to the concept of lexical resource (i.e. using a wide range of vocabulary) for the speaking portion of the IELTS examination
- To practice the use of synonyms and paraphrasing to say a statement in a different way
- To introduce the concept of verb collocations
- To introduce the concept of adverb intensifiers
Lesson 4 – Grammatical Range and Accuracy
- To practice using complex sentence structures for the speaking portion of the IELTS examination
Lesson 5 – Tenses
- To practice using a range of tenses for the speaking portion of the IELTS examination
Lesson 6 – Advanced Tenses
- To practice using conditionals and the passive voice on the speaking portion of the IELTS examination
Lesson 7 – Pronunciation
- To review and practice pronunciation and intonation for the speaking portion of the IELTS examination
- Skills practiced include word stress, sentence stress, weak sounds/syllables, connecting sounds, using pitch and hearing punctuation

- To introduce the format and provide practice for Part I of the speaking portion of the IELTS examination

- To boost student confidence just before the exam, and to practice some tricky questions for the speaking portion of the IELTS exam
